Friends of the Library

We really value our Friends. The Friends would love to have you join. The Friends of the Catawba County Library volunteer together to support and share our enthusiasm for the library. They sponsor library programming and vibrant summer reading programs.

They act as ambassadors for literacy and the library, participate in programming and events, and raise funds through membership drives, book sales, and other special projects. They provide community outreach and promote the library every chance they get.

Membership in the Friends gives you the opportunity to volunteer and work with other dedicated advocates who share your enthusiasm for the library and all that it has to offer.

The Sherrills Ford-Terrell Friends of the Library are seeking a local high school student to paint a "Little Free Library" to be placed at the new Mountain Creek Park. Art designs must be judged to be attactive and appropriate for a public park setting. Interested parties can see the unpainted Little Free Library at the entrance of the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Library.

Applications for the Art Contest are available at the library or at this link. All submissions are due by November 13, 2022. A selection committee will judge the submissions and announce the selected artist by November 20, 2022. The artist will receive a cash prize of $100, awarded upon completion of the box. The Friends of the Library will provide all the materials necessary to paint the box according to the artist’s specifications.
