Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare Open Enrollment

Published: October 16, 2019

Medicare plans can change each year. During open enrollment – which takes place from October 15 through December 7 this year – people have the opportunity to change their coverage to something that better suits their current circumstances.

Understanding Medicare’s various options, along with their terminology and time frames, can be daunting, especially if you don’t deal with the organization often.

To assist residents and offer simple guidelines and explanations, representatives from the Catawba County Council on Aging will be available for one-on-one consultations to review individual needs and provide insight into the best Medicare plan for attendees. The changes made during open enrollment will go into effect on January 1, 2020.

If you’d like to get informed help on how to make your Medicare choices better fit your personal situation, make a reservation by calling 828.328.2269. Meetings will be scheduled at either the Main Library in Newton or the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Branch Library.
