Filing for 2021 Catawba County City School Board Elections

Information for candidates seeking a board seat with Hickory Public Schools and Newton-Conover City Schools in the November 2, 2021, election is as follows:

Hickory Public Schools – four seats total
Filing begins noon, August 13, 2021 ending 5pm, September 3, 2021
Filing Fee: $5.00

• Hickory School Ward 1 (4-year term) – one seat
• Hickory School Ward 2 (4-year term) – one seat
• Hickory School Ward 3 (4-year term) – one seat
• Hickory School Ward 5 (4-year term) – one seat

Newton-Conover City Schools – three seats total
Filing begins noon, August 13, 2021 ending noon, September 3, 2021
Filing Fee: $5.00

• Conover School District (4-year term) – one seat
• Newton School District (4-year term) – two seats

Interested candidates should file in Newton at the Catawba County Board of Elections Office at 145 Government Dr. Candidates must be 21 years old and a registered voter in the school district or ward for which they are filing. Staff will be available 8am-5pm Monday through Friday to assist with the candidate filing form and the required campaign committee forms.
