Catawba County Emergency Services is hosting the 3rd Summer Academy!
An interactive overview of Emergency Services in Catawba County including EMS, Emergency Management, Communications, Law Enforcement and the Fire Service. Participants will practice medical skills, complete tasks in HazMat suits and fire equipment, and tour the 911 communications center. Students will finish the academy with a CPR certification as well as have completed the National Stop the Bleed education. We will have representatives from each division to talk about the education and skills needed to do their jobs. They will also be available to answer questions about the job.
This academy will include physical activity such as (but not limited to) pulling fire hoses, bending, stooping, crawling, and wearing fire gear.

Cost: There is no charge for this Academy.
Meals: Participants will need to bring their lunch each day.
