Discover the Fun of Macramé
Published: September 05, 2019
Do you remember macramé, that knotted cord craft from the 1970s? Well, it’s back! As with most fashion and design trends, there’s a cyclicality to what’s popular, and macramé is finding itself in favor again after decades of disapproval.
To explore its newfound acceptance, the Library is making macramé the focus of this month’s Craftsman Collaborative, the ongoing series where we highlight various craft-making techniques. A local artisan will teach us the basics of macramé knots and walk us through creating our own versions of wall hangings, plant holders, and more.
To take part in the fun, join us at 6 pm on Tuesday, September 10 at the Conover Branch Library. Materials have been generously contributed by Ravenox and an anonymous donor, and there’s no fee to participate. Registration is not required either.
N.B. If you’d like to share your crafting talent in a future class, please contact the Conover Branch Library at 828.466.5108. We’d love to highlight what you enjoy doing!
