Christmas Parties for Kids & Teens
Published: December 10, 2019
The Christmas season is typically elbow-to-elbow with parties, festivities, and other celebrations as people make time to gather for food, friendship, and to share gifts and good times.
The library is also tapping into the spirit of the holiday with a variety of get-togethers for children of all ages. We love the camaraderie of fellow library-lovers and want to share the traditions and goodwill!
In the coming week, we’ll first be hosting a Teen Holiday Celebration. Coordinated by the St. Stephens Teen Advisory Board, the event will feature season-appropriate refreshments and a special candy cane craft for hands-on fun. We’ll also dance to holiday music like no one is watching, playing our favorite songs and giving ourselves over to the classic rhythms of familiar tunes!
• The teen party takes place at 4 pm on Saturday, December 14 at the St. Stephens Branch Library. All teens are welcome and are encouraged to bring a friend along!
Then, we’ll be inviting kids and families to a Holiday Celebration & Santa Visit. We’ll enjoy the lead-up to Christmas with a bilingual storytime (English and Spanish) and a craft session that makes the most of holiday themes and materials. Plus, there will be plenty of hot cocoa to go around!
Santa is scheduled to make an appearance and to hear from the kids what their Christmas wishes and requests are. There will also be time for photo ops, so don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the moments!
• Everyone is welcome to attend the celebration, which takes place at 5 pm on Monday, December 16 at the Main Library in Newton.
