Parks Master Plan

The Catawba County Parks Master Plan is a 10-year roadmap for the future of Catawba County Parks. It provides a framework for preserving Catawba County’s unique and diverse natural heritage, providing quality park experiences, guiding future investment, and responding to the needs of a growing community.

The plan was shaped by community input, data, and a comprehensive assessment of Catawba County's parks, trails, amenities, operations, and services. Residents, park users, staff, community organizations, and regional partners shared their experiences, priorities, and ideas throughout the planning process. Their input helped identify priorities for the next decade, including trail expansion and greenway connectivity, nature-based recreation, outdoor and environmental education, accessibility and inclusive recreation, and land conservation and stewardship.

The Master Plan provides a shared vision for the future of Catawba County Parks. It will help guide decisions, focus resources on what matters most, and keep Parks responsive as our community grows and changes. Ultimately, it is both a practical roadmap and a shared commitment to caring for the special places and experiences that make Catawba County Parks a valued part of our community.
