Contests
Catawba SWCD encourages students in the county to participate in annual education contests. The contest theme for 2025-2026 is "We All Live in a Watershed." Winners will advance to the Area 2 contest in March, and those winners will advance to the State contest in May. Monetary prizes are offered at each level. Contest entry deadline is January 27, 2026. We will accept entries any time prior to that.

This contest is open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Each grade level is judged separately and awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Winning entries will advance to the Area Competition.

This annual event is for 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th-12th grades. Registration is deadline is January 27, 2026. Competition will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026.
