Briefly describe your job. What do you do?
I do a little bit of everything. I maintain all air conditioning equipment in all County facilities by performing repairs when something breaks, changing filters, daily inspections of major systems to ensure they’re operating correctly, and even adjusting temperatures. I also in charge of managing re-roofing projects, roof inspections, and repairs. I also assist the team with other daily tasks.

What is a typical workday like for you?
I start at 7 AM daily going around to all major County buildings for my inspections of the AC systems to ensure they are working when staff arrives. No day is the same for me after that and it depends on what issues come up or projects going on.

What is your favorite aspect of your job – what do you enjoy doing most?
I enjoy the team I work with and I also enjoy being able to visit all departments and meet the staff while also solving problems.

What is the County core value you believe most relates to the work you do, and why?
Doing It Well – If I do my job well, it means that I am helping create an environment that is allowing County staff to do their jobs safely and comfortably. I take pride in the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures that help us prevent breakdowns and keep systems operational.

What do you like best about working for Catawba County?
The people. I get great satisfaction in taking care of them and their needs.

Where did you grow up?
Catawba County, I have been here my whole life.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy hunting, spending time with my family, and going on trips in the mountains.

The Amazing Race.

Atlanta Braves and Carolina Hurricanes

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
I would like to be able to time travel so that way I can go back in time to fix issues before they even happen.
