Briefly describe your job. What do you do?
I assist taxpayers through answering the phone, collecting funds for tax bills and setting up payment arrangements. I also handle eligible vehicle tax exemptions for registered motor vehicles.

What is a typical workday like for you?
When working in the collections department no day is ever the same, most importantly we assist the citizen in person and over the phone in paying or making arrangements to pay their taxes. When taxes become delinquent, we work to collect taxes through garnishments, and try our best to help as much as we can before we have to send out garnishments.

What is your favorite aspect of your job – what do you enjoy doing most?
I love assisting the citizens of the county, especially the ones that appreciate you and the work that you do.

What is the County core value you believe most relates to the work you do, and why?
The core value I believe that relates to the work I do would be doing it together.  In the collections office we work as a team. I know if I ask my coworkers around me for something they do not hesitate to jump in and help as much as they can.

What do you like best about working for Catawba County?
I am big on working as a team, even though we as employees each work in separate departments, Catawba county tries to create a family atmosphere and that is one of the greatest things about working for Catawba County.

Where did you grow up?
Caldwell County 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and fur babies. I also enjoy planting flowers.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have one superpower it would be flying. I think it would be amazing to be able to see the world from a whole different perspective.
