Briefly describe your job. What do you do?
I am an ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician serving the county as an automotive technician performing maintenance, heavy repair, and fabrication on all vehicles in our fleet.
What is a typical workday like for you?
A typical workday at the County Garage involves a variety of automotive preventative maintenance, repairs, and parts acquisition as well as assisting county employees with their immediate fleet needs such as appointment scheduling and roadside repairs.
What is your favorite aspect of your job – what do you enjoy doing most?
My whole career has been centered in the automotive service industry and by fortune the County has provided a growing space for me to continue the career I enjoy. But if I had to pick one aspect that was my favorite it would be the people I work with across all county departments, especially my co-workers at the garage and let me tell you they are simply the best!!!
What is the County core value you believe most relates to the work you do, and why?
I would say Doing It Well would best relate to the work we do. The County Garage serves the County by maintaining the vehicles other county employees need to go out and serve the community everyday, most importantly the Public Safety employees who count on their vehicles to protect and save the lives of the people of Catawba County and surrounding areas.
What do you like best about working for Catawba County?
What I have always liked best about working for Catawba County is the high level of support provided for employees. From the County Managers Office all the way down I have never once felt like my needs and support were not being met. I believe here you are truly still viewed as a person and not just a number. Speaking of support, I would like to make a special shout out to John Cameron and Robert Huffman for being awesome supervisors!

Maiden, NC
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Gardening, food preservation, spending time with family, and enjoying our wonderful NC mountains.
Favorite movie, TV show, and/or book?
The Godfather and any westerns.
Favorite musical artist or genre?
Bluegrass, outlaw country, independent artist.
Favorite sports team(s)?
Atlanta Braves is there really any other?
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
The ability to fly. I mean how cool would that be?
