Catawba County Parks features three parks which protect the County’s and offer passive recreation opportunities such as hiking, running, picnicking, wildlife viewing in a natural habitat. Each of these parks has a distinctive “personality.” Riverbend Park is located in the northern part of the County along Hwy. 16. This 450-acre park provides a fresh water wetlands, upland forest, and hiking along the Catawba River. Bakers Mountain Park is located in the southwestern part of the County. This 189-acre park is on a mountain, offering views of the Catawba Valley, and vegetation natural to the higher elevations. St. Stephens Park is located adjacent to the City of Hickory, in the northwest part of the County. This 9-acre park provides a natural respite within an urban area.
