Catawba County Animal Services provides a wide variety of services intended to promote responsible pet ownership, protect the public from diseased and dangerous animals, and to treat all citizens and animals fairly and compassionately. In addition to the enforcement of state and local animal control laws, we meet our goals through public education, a commitment to positive outcomes. The Catawba County Animal Shelter is located at 201 Government Services Drive on the Catawba County Government Center campus in Newton. Through an innovative public-private partnership, the shelter is fully managed by the Humane Society of Catawba County (HSCC). HSCC staff facilitate the intake of all animals presented at the shelter, veterinary care, fostering and adoption, educational programming and vaccine clinics and volunteer coordination.
