Budget & Management

The Budget and Management Office is responsible for preparation, administration, and compilation of the annual budget for all County services. Specific activities include revenue and expenditure forecasting; making recommendations for improvement and/or attainment of County and departmental goals and objectives; preparing recommended and approved operating budget presentations and documents; overseeing current budget activity and related budget amendments; and providing financial information and guidance for the County Manager and Board of Commissioners.

The department has received the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award since Fiscal Year 1988/89. In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operation guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications medium.
