Alice in Wonderland Ballet Wraps Up
Published: May 16, 2019
Families still have two chances to catch the Library’s special adaptation of the Alice in Wonderland ballet. Throughout the year, we’ve been showcasing dance through a partnership with Hickory Ballet and Performing Arts and have presented The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty at all seven branches.
As with all the ballets, Alice in Wonderland is interactive, encouraging children to get involved as Hickory Ballet tells the story of Alice as she tumbles down the rabbit hole.
The goal of the performances is to teach kids how to communicate through movement and to see how dance tells stories without words. Sharing the narrative of a classic novel is a plus as well!
Each Alice in Wonderland presentation will include an activity based on the story and is open to boys and girls of all ages, and to families.
The final two performances will take place at the following locations:
- Saturday, May 18 at 11 am at the St. Stephens Branch Library
- Saturday, May 18 at 12:30 pm at the Claremont Branch Library
