Adopt & Foster

CCAS always has a plethora of fun, adorable, lovable animals available for adoption. Being an open admission animal shelter, we never know what kind of furry (or scaly) creatures may walk through our doors! The first step toward adopting from CCAS would be to view our animals online. That can be done by:

  • Go to http://www.petharbor.com
  • Type in the zip code 28658
  • Click “Catawba County Animal Care and Control”
  • From that menu you can view all the animals currently at the shelter

If you find a furry friend online who you think may be a match for you, please come visit us! We are open Tuesday-Saturday from 11am-6pm. Our address is:

201 Government Services Dr,
Newton, NC 28658

*In order to adopt an animal from CCAS you must spend at least 15 minutes with that animal before an adoption can be finalized. Please bring your Photo ID. Please bring your own leash/collar or cat carrier.*

THANK YOU FOR ADOPTING FROM CCAS! SAVING LIVES, COMPLETING FAMILIES!

Fostering a shelter animal is a life-saving endeavor! Anyone can be a foster parent! You can take a dog out of the shelter for a couple hours on a car ride, study session, or walk through the park. Or, you can foster a cat for a couple months who needs peace and quiet, and everything in between! Any time spent out of the shelter is a good time for an animal. We are always seeking foster parents! To foster a pet through CCAS, the first step would be to look online at all of our animals currently at the sheler:

  • Go to http://www.petharbor.com
  • Type in the zip code 28658
  • Click “Catawba County Animal Care and Control”
  • From that menu you can view all the animals currently at the shelter

If you are interested in volunteering at CCAS please come to our facility any time we are open, Tuesday-Saturday from 11am-6pm. You have to fill out a volunteer waiver (less than 5 minutes). Please bring your photo ID. Once you fill out the waiver you can start volunteering!
