Family NET, a part of Catawba County Social Services, is recruiting for a Master’s level clinician who will provide mental health and substance abuse assessment and treatment services in-home as part of our CPS investigations unit. Therapist will be imbedded in a Child Protective Service Team and will work in collaboration with a Community Support Q, para-professionals, Family NET staff, community providers, the court system, and the CPS worker to assist parents in receiving state of the art assessment, and treatment that will begin in the home as quickly as the family is identified. In addition, therapist will be responsible for coordinating the initial assessment, developing a treatment plan, advising the CPS Investigations team regarding treatment needs of children and parents, referring to Community Support Services and ensuring that the consumer has not only been referred, but has begun to participate in treatment. The CPS therapist will be able to work independently, make decisions, have knowledge of community resources and be able to role model good parenting skills and strong family values.   This position will lay the groundwork for an innovative new method of providing services that will help parents receive treatment more quickly, keep families together and decrease the number of days children are in care in Catawba County.  This is an opportunity to work outside an office and to truly make changes in the lives of families in Catawba County. 

REQUIRES:  Master&apos;s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or marriage and family therapy and two to three years of post-graduate counseling experience.  Must be licensed or eligible for NC Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Psychological Associate, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist upon date of hire.  Applicants need to be highly skilled in assessment as well as have the ability to quickly develop rapport with consumers and their families.
