• Water samples are taken Monday through Thursday.
  
  
• Contact the Environmental Health Specialist for your area between 8 am and 9 am after the application has been submitted to schedule a day for the sample to be taken. (Use the interactive map on the main Well and Septic Systems page to determine which specialist to call).
  
  
• Bacteriological sample results take 4-5 days, chemical sample results take 3-4 weeks and all other sample results take 1-2 months.
  
  
• If a bacteriological sample is for a loan closing, allow 3-4 weeks for collection, transport, and analysis of sample, disinfection of well if sample is positive, and resample.
  
  
• Keep a copy of your completed application until the process is complete.
