Bringing your new baby home from the hospital is very exciting. But the questions you have once you are home can sometimes be overwhelming. Catawba County Public Health’s Postpartum Maternal/Newborn Home Visiting Program is here to help.|
Have a nurse come to your home.
We understand it can be hard to get out of the house right after you’ve had a baby. That’s why our nurse will come to you. The nurse will perform a health assessment for you and your baby, as well as answer questions such as:
How will the visit help me and my baby?
- Is my baby eating enough?
- Am I breastfeeding right?
- Am I healing properly?
- Is feeling overwhelmed normal?
The visit will help make sure you and your baby are healthy and adjusting well. If you or your baby has a medical need, the nurse will refer you to local healthcare resources. You will also receive information on immunizations, childcare, infant growth and development, and safe sleep practices.
