hurricanThis has been an active hurricane season, and the Catawba County Environmental Health Section urges you to be prepared in case further hurricanes cause flooding or other damage in this area.

Important precautions during and after a hurricane covering health and safety, food and medicines, drinking water, septic tanks, insects and animals, and cleaning up after an event.

If your property is flooded and you are on a well, you should not use the water until you follow these well disinfection procedures.

You may track hurricanes and get the latest bulletins, radar and satellite info at the National Hurricane Center from NOAA.
