Provides
school site, direct health services,
health education, consultation for faculty
and staff, and health promotion/prevention
for staff and students to promote the
maximum physical, social, emotional and
educational growth of children.
Provides
health promotion/health prevention to identified ECST child
care centers, the children enrolled, and their families as
a member of a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team, including:
health education for children, center staff, and families;
health consultation and staff development; dental, developmental,
and other health screenings including identification, referral
and follow-up as indicated; assistance to families in locating
and obtaining health resources; identification and development
of an individualized health plan for children with chronic
illnesses - so that appropriate care will be provide by center
staff; and provide immunizations onsite at child care centers.
The nurse is also available to all child care centers for consultation
on a variety of health issues, will participate in special
projects as requested or needed and will collaborate with
other team members in developing recommendations for specific
children, families and centers.
