LOCAL CHILDREN SET TO GET ‘SMILES’ FROM AREA DENTAL PROFESSIONALS

HICKORY, NC – Nearly 275 local children have been selected to participate in the national Give Kids A Smile program, which coincides with Children’s Dental Health Month this February.

Along with Catawba County Public Health Dental Practice, dental professionals across Catawba County are opening their doors to provide free restorative and preventive dental health services to children valued at approximately $90,000. Children were selected for the Give Kids A Smile program through dental sealant education and screenings provided to more than 2,000 children in Catawba County by Cindy W. Sigmon, Public Health Dental Hygienist for the North Carolina Oral Health Section serving Catawba County.
