Miracle Film Screening

Miracle Film Screening

Published: February 24, 2018

Our community read this March and April is Blue by Joyce Hostetter, about a girl in 1940s Hickory who's impacted by a sudden polio epidemic. Catawba County's real-life response to this outbreak is featured in Miracle, a locally produced documentary. The film highlights patient and volunteer stories and the treatment of polio at the time and is a terrific backdrop to Blue. The screenings will also include talk backs with filmmaker/CVCC professor Richard Eller and polio survivors at selected locations:

• March 3 (Sat) at 11 am, Maiden Branch
• March 6 (Tue) at 6 pm, Southwest Branch
• March 12 (Mon) at 6 pm, Sherrills Ford-Terrell
• March 13 (Tue) at 6 pm, Conover Branch
• April 7 (Sat) at 3 pm, Main Library, Newton
