meetings
of the Catawba
County Board of Commissioners are held
the first Monday of each month at 9:30
am, except for the first meeting in September
which is held on the first Tuesday due
to the Labor Day holiday, and on the third
Monday at 7 pm, except for the mid-month
meeting in January which is held the third
Tuesday due to the commemoration of Dr.
Martin Luther King's Birthday. The meetings
are in the Superior Courtroom of the 1924
Courthouse in Newton.
All
meetings are open to the public and citizens
are encouraged to attend and participate.

The five-member
Board of Commissioners is responsible for considering
and providing for the needs of the residents of the county. They are elected
on an at-large basis to staggered four year terms in November of even
numbered years.
