DIRECTIONS TO THE CATAWBA COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER
AND JUSTICE CENTER 
From the Asheville, North Carolina area:
Take I-40 East. Take Exit 128 (Fairgrove Church Road) and turn right onto Fairgrove Church Road. Travel south until you come to Highway 70 (the intersection of two four lane roads). Turn left. Travel east until you come to Highway 321 Business (a T-intersection of two four lane roads). Turn right. After traveling approximately two and a quarter miles, you will see the Government Center on your right, just beyond the First Baptist Church of Newton and a CVS Pharmacy. You may proceed a little farther on 321 to see the entire complex and both buildings and turn into the parking lot, or turn right onto Radio Station Road and be prepared to turn left quickly into the Government Center parking lot.

From the Greensboro, Winston-Salem or Raleigh-Durham areas:
Take I-40 West. Take Exit 128 (Fairgrove Church Road) and turn left onto Fairgrove Church Road. Travel south until you come to Highway 70 (the intersection of two four lane roads). Turn left. Travel east until you come to Highway 321 Business (a T-intersection of two four lane roads). Turn right. After traveling approximately two and a quarter miles, you will see the Government Center on your right, just beyond the First Baptist Church of Newton and a CVS Pharmacy. From the Charlotte area:
If you choose to take I-77 to I-40, see "From the Greensboro, Winston-Salem or Raleigh-Durham areas:" above.

Or...Using Highway 16 (the easiest, but perhaps the slowest route):   Do not turn right when Highway 16 North goes right at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.  Instead, stay on Highway 16 North Business into the City of Newton. Highway 16 North Business will merge onto Highway 10. At the stoplight at Highway 321 Business, there will be a small shopping center on your right, a Speed Lube on your left, and Prime Sirloin across Highway 321 . Turn right onto 321 North Business. The Government Center/Justice Center complex will be almost immediately on your left.

Or...Using Highway 321 (taking I-85 from Charlotte to Gastonia and connecting with 321, the fastest way): Travel north on Highway 321 until you reach the Highway 10 interchange. Exit and turn right onto Highway 10. Approximately 4.5 miles later you will reach the intersection of Highway 321 Business, with a convenience store on your right, a Prime Sirloin restaurant on your left and a Speed Lube and Burger King in front and to the right. Turn left at the stoplight. The Government Center/Justice Center campus will be just up the road on your left.

You will find all three of these buildings on the right not far up the road.

From the Greensboro, Winston-Salem or Raleigh-Durham areas:
Take I-40 West. Take Exit 128 (Fairgrove Church Road) and turn right onto Fairgrove Church Road. DIRECTIONS TO THE 1924 COURTHOUSE IN NEWTON (SITE OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING AND OTHER EVENTS)

From the Asheville, North Carolina area:
Take I-40 East. Take Exit 128 (Fairgrove Church Road) and turn right onto Fairgrove Church Road. Travel south until you come to Highway 70 (the intersection of two four lane roads). Turn left. Travel east until you come to Highway 321 Business (a T-intersection of two four lane roads). Turn right. Or...Using Highway 16 (the easiest, but perhaps the slowest route): Do not turn right when Highway 16 North goes right at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet. Instead, stay on Highway 16 North Business into the City of Newton. Highway 16 North Business will merge onto Highway 10. As you enter downtown Newton, turn right onto South College Ave. Go 3 blocks to A Street. The 1924 Courthouse will be on your left. Parking is available on the square surrounding the courthouse.

Or...using Highway 321 (taking I-85 from Charlotte to Gastonia and connecting with 321, the newest and fastest way): Travel north on Highway 321 until you reach the Highway 10 interchange. Exit and turn right onto Highway 10. Approximately 4.5 miles later you will reach the intersection of Highway 321 Business, with a convenience store on your right, a Prime Sirloin restaurant on your left and a Speed Lube and Burger King in front and to the right. Turn left at this stoplight.  At the next stoplight, where you will see a CVS Pharmacy just ahead to your left, turn right onto West A Street.  Go to the second stoplight, four-tenths of a mile up A Street (the intersection of A Street and Main Street) and you will see the 1924 Courthouse just ahead on the left.  Parking is available on the square surrounding the courthouse.
