CHECKOUT
Browse audiobooks or search for a specific title. When you have found one you want, click on it and follow instructions for downloading. Audiobooks can be downloaded or played on any desktop, or laptop supporting Windows Media Player version 9 or above, Musicmatch Jukebox v8.2 and above, or Nullsoft Winamp v5 and above.
NetLibrary eAudiobooks are provided in two sound qualities, CD (34 kbps) and Radio (4 kbps) quality. Most devices do not support the playback of files lower than 32 kbps. If you are going to transfer and listen to an eAudiobook on a device you should download the CD quality file.
An average eAudiobook has 10 hours of playback length. It is about 145MB for the CD quality and will take 13 minutes to download on a cable modem (1.5Mbps), 1 hour 15 minutes on a DSL (256kbps) line, and about 6 hours on a dial-up modem (56kbps). The radio quality of the same file is about 27.4MB and will take 2 minutes to download on a cable modem (1.5Mbps), 15 minutes on a DSL (256kbps) line, and about 1 hours on a dial-up modem (56kbps).
PLAYING YOUR AUDIOBOOK
NetLibrary's eAudiobooks can be listened to on a wide range of portable devices, including portable music players, portable media centers, Pocket PCs, and even select smart phone devices. In order to be considered a device that works with our audiobook collection, the only requirement is that the device, must be able to support playback of secure or protected wma files.
Any device that lists Windows Media Plays for Sure on its packaging will support our audio downloads. All versions of Apple's iPod do not support the protected .wma files used by the eAudiobook collection.
To find a list of supported devices, you can visit the Windows Media Plays for Sure web site for specific devices.
