How to Place a Hold on an Item from Our Online Catalog

You can call or stop by any library branch and place a hold on a title you are looking for that is checked out or at another branch.

You can also place a hold on materials via the Internet using the library's online catalog, and we will call you when they are available for pick up. To place a hold online you will need your library card number and a PIN number. If you do not have a PIN, click here for instructions on how to get one.

  • Log on to the Catawba County Library Catalog Home Page at http://library.catawbacountync.gov/catawba/default.asp .

  • Select the title.

  • Click on the title to enter the Labeled Display screen.

  • Click on the "Holds Request" button at the top of the page to place a hold.

  • Enter you library card number and your PIN number. Click on the "Submit Request" button.

Please call us if you have any trouble trying to place a hold from home and we will be glad to assist you.

Requested items that are available at your home branch will be held at the Circulation Desk for one week. Hold requests for items that are unavailable at your home branch will be filled as soon as possible. Library staff will call you whenever your item arrives
