CATAWBA COUNTY HONORED FOR OUTSTANDING UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN
Catawba County United Way held its annual Spirit Awards luncheon on April 9. Catawba County Government was honored with two awards in its division, which includes companies and agencies with 1,000 employees or more.
The County won the “Division I Highest Per Capita” Award for having the highest level of contributions, per employee, for the third consecutive year. The County also won the “Fair Share Giving” Award, for having the most "Fair Share" givers in its division. County employees gave well beyond the County's original goal for this year and ultimately pledged $110,256! $1.9 million was pledged for the entire Catawba County United Way campaign.
"United Way agencies help provide a needed array of services in Catawba County," said County Manager Tom Lundy, in a recent message to employees. "A United Way agency may have helped us personally, or a client we work with. Many of you see and work with the different needs of our citizens, and know the value that United Way agencies bring to the community. I am very proud to work with each of you, and I appreciate the level of customer service you give our citizens and how you demonstrate the concern you have for this community."
