OXFORD CONVENIENCE CENTER HAS REOPENED
The Oxford Convenience Center, located at 4637 Lookout Dam Road, which was temporarily closed beginning April 26, 2007 to allow for necessary maintenance work and upgrades at the site, has reopened earlier than anticipated. The center reopened on Wednesday, May 9, 2007.

"All of our convenience centers are again operating on normal schedules," said Jack Chandler, Public Services Administrator for the Catawba County Department of Utilities and Engineering. "The Oxford Convenience Center had to be closed for a couple of weeks for grading and pavement improvements, in order to alleviate existing drainage problems on the site and facilitate the operations of the center."

The Oxford Convenience Center is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The County’s other four convenience centers are located at: 3864 Rocky Ford Road near the Blackburn Landfill; 2436 Bethany Church Road in the Balls Creek Community; 8876 Sherrills Ford Road in the Sherrills Ford/Terrell Community; and 3659 Rhoney Farm Road in the Cooksville Community. The Blackburn Center is open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Saturday. The Cooksville Center is open from 8 a.m. 6 p.m., Friday & Saturday. The Newton center is open from 10 a.m. 6 p.m., Tuesday Saturday. The Sherrills Ford center is open from 10 a.m.-
6 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.
