FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS AVAILABLE FOR FIREFIGHTERS DURING
NATIONAL FIREFIGHTER HEALTH WEEK
Catawba Valley Medical Center and AIG Insurance are working to recognize and promote National Firefighter Health Week, August 18 through 22. As a part of the week, the Health First Center of Catawba Valley Medical Center will be offering free health screenings for firefighters.
The health screenings will be offered from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18 at the Health First Center, on the lower level of Valley Hills on Highway 70 Southeast in Hickory next to Belk. Cholesterol, PSA, BMI, blood glucose, blood pressure, heart health screen, height/weight, and stroke risk assessment will all be offered.
Now in its second year, National Firefighter Health Week is a week long initiative to educate the fire and emergency services community and the public about heart-health as well as a variety of other health and wellness issues.
No appointments are necessary, but you will be required to fast at least 8 hours prior to the test. Proper fire department identification will be required. For more information, you may call the Health First Center at
