The Catawba County 911 Communication Center dispatch services for over thirty-five (35) agencies and departments in Catawba County, which consist of:
- Catawba County Sheriff's Office
- Five Police Departments (Catawba, Claremont, Conover, Longview and Maiden)
- Twenty-five (25) fire stations, including City of Hickory, six rescue squads, seven EMS stations and Catawba County Emergency Management.
The 911 Center has grown from 1 person per shift to a shift schedule that consist of 5 person shifts for 1st, 5 person shifts for 2nd and 4 person shift for 3rd. We serve a population of roughly 159,125 people. The number of calls answered in Fiscal Year 2009/2010 were:
- Actual 911 Calls: 79,332
- Actual Administration Calls: 167,539
