HOW DO I RESOLVE A SITUATION
REGARDING THE OUTCOME OF AN INSPECTION,
PLAN REVIEW COMMENT, OR PERMIT CENTER ISSUE?
While
your construction project is underway or as you are moving into an existing
building, there may be times when you have questions about items that have
been noted during inspections, or want more information. Questions
like, "Is there any other way to do this?" or "Why does the code require
this to be done?" are common.
The Catawba County Permit Center welcomes these kinds of questions and recommends
you ask questions if you don't understand the corrections that have been
noted.
If
your questions concern an inspection:
Your best option is to call the inspector that did the inspection,
because he will know the most about your inspection since he actually
did that work.
If the inspector can't be reached, you may call the area supervisor
at one of the phone numbers listed from the link at the bottom of this
page.
If the supervisor can't be reached, you may call the Assistant Chief
Building Services Official.
If your concern deals with commercial plan review:
Call Jeff Hinkle, the plan review supervisor, at 828-323-7444.
If your concern deals with a permitting or scheduling issue:
Call David Smith, the Permit Center supervisor, at 828-466-5125.
Phone numbers for all of Building Inspections staff may be found here.
You may print this list and call us whenever questions arise, even if you're
away from home.
Have we answered your question or addressed your concern? If not, let
us know.
