HOW DO I KNOW IF I CAN BUILD ON THIS PROPERTY?


The eight Planning and Zoning departments in Catawba County are each made up of many zoning districts and have unique requirements based on the use of property. You will need to know which Municipal Planning & Zoning jurisdiction you are in and contact that office for specific, detailed information.


The Planning & Zoning Office will likely ask you for the following information.

  • What do you want to build?
  • What is the size of the building?
  • What do you want to use it for?
  • Do you know where you want to put it on the property?
  • Do you know where your septic tank is?
