DETENTION FACILITIES

New JailThe Catawba County Detention Facility is housed in the Catawba County Justice Center in Newton. The original facility was built in 1980 and was designed to hold eighty-nine inmates. In August 2007, an expansion was completed which added one hundred-seventy-six new beds. A full time staff of seventy oversees the around the clock attention to inmates. The Catawba County Detention Facility is divided into several areas: The master control station and three sub control stations, maximum security, general housing, initial housing, trustee section, female section, food service area, administrative offices, medical area, warehouse area and intake/release area.

Times: 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

                "U" - "Z"
Each Inmate will only be allowed one 15 minute visit per week.
