CRIME PREVENTION

The Catawba County Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Division is responsible for a multitude of services concerning security for the citizens in residential and the business community. Some of the objectives of the Crime Prevention Unit are to present practical, experience-based advise on how to reduce the risk of being victimized. Crime Prevention's job is to encourage the public to form community watch programs along with programs, signs, and support of their efforts. The Crime Prevention Division is available to give talks to school groups, churches and civic organizations on all phases of citizen involvement. Some of the other programs offered are Bike Safety Programs, Gun Safety Programs, Drug/Alcohol Programs for the Public and Businesses, Tours of the Justice Center, Mc Gruff Programs,Senior Citizen Programs, Boys Scouts and Cub Scouts, and School Career Day.
