DEPARTMENTAL FUNCTIONS |

The following are some of the major functions
of the Finance Department:
- Process all departmental
requests for payments
- Maintenance of
fixed asset records
- Process all revenues
received and timely deposit of County receipts.
- Reconciliation of all bank accounts

Accurate and timely payment of employee
payroll funds
- Billing and collection
of County services including landfill,
building inspections, privilege licenses,
and other miscellaneous billings
- Monitor
the performance of third party billing
services that administer ambulance billings
and collections
- Preparation of financial
reports for Federal, State and other agencies
- Coordinating annual county audit
and preparation of Comprehensive
Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
- Investing
all idle County funds in accordance with
N.C. General Statutes and management of
all County debt
- Purchasing supplies,
materials, products and equipment for the
County
- Daily courier service between
departments and County agencies
- Operation
of the Government Center switchboard
