The
Catawba County EMS is a division of the
Catawba County Department of Emergency
Services, David A. Weldon, Director
The
EMS Division is responsible for 911 responses
and consists of six stations and seven
24-hour paramedic level ambulances.
Four shifts work 12-hour schedules, and
are headed by a Shift Supervisor and three
Crew Chiefs. |

TRAINING DIVISION
The
Training Division is headed by Sylvia Fisher,
EMS Training Officer. Each Shift
has a Chief Trainer and a number of Field
Training Officers. This division
is responsible for the rigorous new employee
training program and the continuing education
program.
All
Catawba County EMS employees are required
to attend two to eight hours of training
each month; all employees must re-certify
every four years. |

SPECIALTY SERVICES
The
Specialty Services Division assist with prime time coverage, scheduled transfers, contract services, and other non-emergency services. This division has 4 units (Medic 13, Medic 42, Medic 45, and Medic 46) working an eight hour schedule, 5 days per week.
