ADOPTION FEES

Fees shall be charged by the county for the sale of impounded animals. These fees may change from time to time, but will be set forth in the fee schedule of the county, which is kept on file in the office of the Budget Manager and the County Animal Shelter.

Dogs (all ages and sizes), $75, see below for complete breakdown of fees.
Cats (all ages and sizes), $50, see below for complete breakdown of fees.

Fees are paid to the Animal Shelter at time of adoption. The first veterinarian visit must be within 5 days. Medical work is to be completed within 30 days on adult animals & by 6 months on puppies and kittens. Any unknown medical problems at time of adoption or death of natural causes within 30 days of purchase results in a refund of unspent monies, or choice of another animal. Adopter must provide letter from veterinarian stating medical problems or cause of death before refunds or substitutions are made. Failure to comply with any of the provisions results in a forfeiture of the animal and all fees paid to the Animal Shelter.
